Nedbank's Enterprise Development programme is structured around Nedbank's BBBEE scorecard obligations and integrated with the Nedbank Foundation. Like other corporate ED programmes, the primary filter is supply-chain or value-chain relevance — businesses that can supply goods or services to Nedbank or its investee companies.

BBBEE contributor status is required. Black ownership preference exists (51%+) but the programme technically accepts any BBBEE contributor with a value-chain link. Credit record and financial health are assessed as part of the process.

Kayzi Advisory NoteSimilar to Standard Bank ED in structure. Integrated with Nedbank Foundation for non-financial support. Best for BBBEE-compliant businesses that already have or can credibly develop a relationship with Nedbank's ecosystem.

Contextual Fit · Business Substance · Financial Visibility

  • BBBEE contributor status (preference for 51%+ black ownership)
  • Existing or credible potential supplier relationship with Nedbank or its investees
  • Business trading for at least 1 year
  • Clean credit record (or a clear explanation for any adverse record)
  • South African registered entity
  • Viable business model with growth potential
  • No BBBEE compliance or contributor status
  • No supply-chain connection to Nedbank or its investee companies
  • Pre-revenue or idea-stage businesses
  • Poor credit record with no context or resolution plan
  • High debt levels with no repayment capacity
  • Debt consolidation requests
Common rejection reasonNo BBBEE status; no value-chain relevance to Nedbank; weak financials; adverse credit record.

Valid BBBEE certificate, CIPC registration, 1+ year of financials or bank statements, proof of supply-chain relevance, clean credit record (or documented explanation), and a business plan.
